Smart Car of the Future
How will the smart car of the future look like ?? I don't know. I am not going to design it.But lets stretch my imagination and think about the stuff it will be loaded. Well I am not a car expert, but whatever I know I will try to infuse to my ideas. So here it goes.
Engine
A 32 cylinder 1000 BhP engine with some different kind of cooling system along with the oil cool system and there will be external vents which will cool radiate heat from the system.
Controlled fully by a chip which will increase the oil flow to the engine depending on the speed you are driving at, so that means if you are not using the full throttle then it will run on economy mode :)
Body
The body will be made out of so many materials. I will prefer FRP. Each model will be hand made like the Aston Martins.
Design
The design of the body will be fully aerodynamic. There will be flaps at the bottom of the vehicle whose attack of angle with the air will change according to speed. It will give enough to keep the vehicle grounded at high speeds. Bullet proof glasses will be standard. There will be solar panels on the top which will supply energy for the batteries. On the bottom of the vehicle an extra twin pair of small jets engines will be fitted for short distance take offs from a very fast speed so that the car can fly short distances with a pair of wings which open from the base of the car. The attacks angle with the wing and the flaps will be totally monitored by a chip. The driver will just have to sit and drive. This will help the car come out of any kind of congestion or traffic jam or emergency. The car will have all the movements monitored from inside and outside. Like the windows doors mirror etc. At high speeds the cars ground clearance and height will come down and will become more aerodynamic.
Dashboard
The dashboard will be fully wooden hand crafted and with a wide screendisplay for the driver to check. It will have a fuel indicator, tachometer and odometer all linked. The car will have an internal computer which will keep log of the distances it has traveled the amount of fuel it has consumed and the speeds at which it has traveled. It will be fitted with GPS and will keep log of all the turns it takes and at what distances. There will be four external cameras fitted with the camera and they will keep the driver updated from the dashboard of the surrounding. The driver wont have to turn back or look in the mirror while going on the reverse gear. A camera with night vision enabled will show everything to the driver on the big LCD screen on the dashboard. There will be an automatic mode where the vehicle can go on reverse and turn if required making its own calculations with feedback from the surrounding with lasers. The dashboard will have the usual CD/DVD players fitted with hi fi surround sound music system. It will have multiple chargers for cellphones,pdas laptops and anyother such gadgets. It will also have a function where if the driver falls asleep it can take control and will park in a safe place with the dash board reminding the driver to wake up or take action unless the driver keeps the sleep mode switched on.
Interior
The interior will be fully furnished with hi quality leather. There will be enough leg space and head space. There will be a surround AC vent system both from the edge of the top and bottom so that any part of the car can be temperature maintained. The seats will be fully functional ie whenever required they will turn to two beds. While sleeping the car can be engaged in sleep alert mode where it will keep an eye on all the surrounding.
Electricals
The car will be fitted with backup batteries and solar batteries. It will be GPS enabled. There will be fog lights warning lights etc on the bottom at both ends which will come up according the requirement. It will be fitted with lasers to detect other vehicle movements on the road while on high speed and will signal other vehicles while on high speed.
The Smart Computer
This will be the core of all the calculations and logs of the car. The computer will be designed to keep a log of the driver with a user name and a code and any other owner of the vehicle who drives it. It will have logs of the user, his/her weight, sitting height, voice recognization, finger print recognization. There will be finger print detectors on the steering wheel itself and on the doors of the car. The computer will keep log of all the locations the car has been to and will monitor all the distances and quantity of gas the vehicle is consuming , speed records. It will warn the user about any kind of malfunctioning in the car. The auto mode will have predefined maps of the cities so that the car can go on its own with the object detection software ie recognizing objects on its way and vehicles. It will show the car temperature and pressure in four areas of the car. While on the flight mode it will calculate all the parameters like speed, wind speed distance etc to take the small flight.All the data will be transmitted to a server by internet where the car data will be available at anytime through out its lifetime.It will have reminders about the car to fill gas, oil servicing or product change.
Safety
The car will follow high standards of safety. It will have bullet proof glasses and body.The tires will be multi chambered. There will be thin extra tires fitted on top of the running tires so that if any of the tires bursts badly they will automatically replace it and warn the driver to change the tires sometime later. The car body will be fully equipped with air bags for all passengers as standard along with oxygen supply in case of a fire suffocation and there will be emergency vents which will open up in case of a fire and will keep the car smoke free. ABS etc will be totally standard.
